Complaints, confidentiality, and data use
The OGPAB reporting platform is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to receive reports of bullying and violence in educational settings.
Complaints are handled in the order in which they are received, ensuring that each case is recorded and processed systematically. In situations of imminent risk to a student’s life or safety, it is recommended to immediately notify the competent authorities (police, protection services, health centers), as OGPAB does not replace the authorities and cannot guarantee immediate intervention.
For a report to be received and handled correctly, it is necessary to provide the complainant’s contact details or a valid channel of communication with OGPAB. This allows us to confirm information, gather additional details, and follow up. Anonymous reports can be recorded, but they significantly limit our ability to take action and follow up.
All information provided will be treated with absolute confidentiality. No identifiable information about students or complainants will be shared with third parties, and only authorized OGPAB staff will have access to the data.
In addition, the data collected is used in an aggregated and anonymous manner to generate statistics and analyses on the frequency, types, causes, and consequences of bullying. This allows us to better understand the phenomenon, guide our training, design more effective prevention programs, and disseminate knowledge that contributes to the creation of safer educational environments.
When submitting a report, it is recommended that you provide as much information as possible: dates, locations, description of the events, names of those involved, and any available evidence. This maximizes the effectiveness of our guidance and analysis.
Important: OGPAB does not conduct judicial investigations, does not apply sanctions, and its work is exclusively educational, preventive, and mediatory. The responsibility for action always lies with the educational institution and/or the competent authorities.
By submitting a complaint, the complainant agrees that the information will be used confidentially and in aggregate form for statistical analysis and the development of prevention programs.
Cases of serious crimes against minors:
In situations where there are indications of child sexual abuse, pedophilia, sexual exploitation, sexual harassment by teachers or other adults, serious physical assault, severe psychological abuse, kidnapping, or any other form of violence that constitutes a crime against minors, OGPAB will act immediately and compulsorily, reporting the facts to the competent authorities in accordance with the current legislation of the country where the incident occurs.
This action is taken exclusively to protect minors and ensure that crimes are investigated and punished by the appropriate legal authorities. OGPAB does not replace the authorities, but is committed to acting responsibly, diligently, and in compliance with the law, ensuring that these extremely serious cases are not left unreported or uninvestigated.
The NGO emphasizes that its intervention in these cases is legally mandatory and does not constitute a voluntary act, but rather the fulfillment of its duty to protect students.
